I’ve been a little scarce on all the web stuff for a while … apologies on that! I’ll confess, I’m not the best with all of this “always connected” stuff. Sometimes it just feels like a little much, and I need to put it down for a while.

And then there’s work, and traveling gigs, and practicing … and the inevitable laziness that’ll follow heavily busy periods. Hey, everyone’s gotta recharge a little, right? (Thank you HBO, and now Disney Plus.)

Coming up this weekend, I’ll be reunited with all sorts of piping buddies for the Upper Potomac Pipers’ Weekend (abbreviated as UPPW) in Shepherdstown, WV.

What a great event this is—personally it feels like a breath of fresh air. Pipers from all over the U.S. head down to this once a year for a weekend full of workshops, jam sessions, and just plain fun. It’s always held during MLK weekend, which of course, tends to be a dry period for piping events seeing as it’s during the dead of winter.

Playing/recording in the new Strathallan Wallpaper space in the PEM’s new wing. Anyone local to the Salem, Mass. area will know full-well that the Peabody Essex Museum has been working on a massive new wing/renovation. By way of my good friend Jeremy Bell, the museum reached out to me about recording my playing of Highland Pipes for one of their new exhibits launching this fall … the Strathallan Wallpaper Experience. So I got to spend an evening in the space yesterday, getting some tunes recorded that will be part of the sound environment for the new permanent exhibit. Really looking forward to seeing/hearing everything in…

Hey everyone! If you’re reading this, THANK YOU! I’ve been working on getting this site built, designed, filled with content, and launched for the better part of two months now. At long last (which is the name of a really great little march, by the way), I’m putting the finishing touches on things, and preparing to “plug in the chanter,” so-to-speak.
